CCI - Canine Campanions for Independence
This organization provides highly trained service dogs to assist physically and emotionally challenged individuals at no charge to the recipient. They are funded exclusively by private donations and rely heavily on volunteers to help them accomplish their mission.
Judee Slack is a volunteer puppy raiser for CCI. While she may be the "official" puppy raiser, this is a labor of love shared by every member of our staff. Each of us assists Judee with the daily tasks of raising and training these amazing dogs. We also take great joy in providing lunches for the CCI staff and students during the intense 2 week training program each recipient of a CCI dog must complete.
Judee also volunteers as a guest speaker at a number of organizations, and the entire staff regularly attends fund-raising events in support of CCI.

Community Senior Serv is a non-profit social service agency and is the largest nutrition progam serving older adults In California. They serve over 1.7 million meals each year. They are an advocate and leader in providing vital services to help all seniors remain independent and in their own homes. One of the most well known of these services is the
Meals On Wheels program that provides prepared meals for homebound seniors.
Many homebound seniors have no family or friends and the Holiday season can be especially difficult for them. We participate in the Community Senior Serv Holiday Gift Giving program by providing gifts to seniors who would otherwise be alone and forgotten. The seniors are aksed to make a Holiday Wish List. Very often their requests are for simple basic necessities that they are forced to live without. This program has proven to be very successful and was recently expanded to provide the opportunity to grant wishes to the homebound seniors year round.
